Attenuated Listeria monocytogenes strain XFL-7 (prfA modified)
This strain of Listeria is attenuated by modification of the prfA gene, a major pluripotent virulence factor that is required for replication. The modified prfA gene results in a partial complementation of function that increases the LD50 in mice by 3 logs in comparison to wild-type.

Attenuated Salmonella typhimurium strain VNP20029
Stably transduced Salmonella strain (VNP20009) that contains the E. coli Cytosine Deaminase gene in the bacterial chromosome locus msbB.

Bacterial cells

Established allogeneic adenocarcinoma cells
Adenocarcinoma cells from an individual that demonstrate the potential for indefinite subculture in vitro for implantation into another individual.
Established allogeneic breast adenocarcinoma cells MDA-MB-231
The cell line is aneuploid female, with chromosome counts in the near-triploid range. Normal chromosomes N8 and N15 were absent. Eleven stable rearranged marker chromosomes are noted as well as unassignable chromosomes in addition to the majority of autosomes that are trisomic.

Established allogeneic breast cancer cells
Breast cancer cells from an individual that demonstrate the potential for indefinite subculture in vitro that are re-implanted into another individual from the same species

Established allogeneic breast cancer cells estrogen / progesterone receptor negative BT-20
This breast tumor line was established by E.Y. Lasfargues and L. Ozzello in 1958 by isolation and cultivation of cells spilling out of the tumor when it was cut in thin slices. A mycoplasma contaminant was discovered and eliminated early in 1972. Growth of BT-20 cells is inhibited by tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF alpha). BT-20 cells are negative for estrogen receptor, but do express an estrogen receptor mRNA that has deletion of exon 5.

Established allogeneic breast cancer cells estrogen / progesterone receptor positive MCF-7
The MCF7 line retains several characteristics of differentiated mammary epithelium including ability to process estradiol via cytoplasmic estrogen receptors and the capability of forming domes. Contains the Tx-4 oncogene. Growth of MCF7 cells is inhibited by tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF alpha). Secretion of IGFBP's can be modulated by treatment with anti-estrogens.

Established allogeneic cells
Cells from individual that demonstrate the potential for indefinite subculture in vitro that are re-implanted into another individual from the same species.

Established allogeneic chronic myeloid leukemia cells K562
Established from pleural effusion of 53 year female with chronic myelogenous leukaemia in terminal blast crisis. Population highly undifferentiated and of the granulocytic series. Can be used as a highly sensitive target for the in vitro natural killer assay. Recent studies have shown the K562 blasts are multipotential, hematopoietic malignant cells that spontaneously cells produce hemoglobin; cells carry the Philadelphia chromosome with a b3-a2 fusion gene.
differentiate into recognisable progenitors of the erythrocyte, granulocyte and monocytic series.
