Established allogeneic breast cancer cells estrogen / progesterone receptor negative BT-20   This breast tumor line was established by E.Y. Lasfargues and L. Ozzello in 1958 by isolation and cultivation of cells spilling out of the tumor when it was cut in thin slices. A mycoplasma contaminant was discovered and eliminated early in 1972. Growth of BT-20 cells is inhibited by tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF alpha). BT-20 cells are negative for estrogen receptor, but do express an estrogen receptor mRNA that has deletion of exon 5.   View

Population highly undifferentiated and of the granulocytic series. Can be used as a highly sensitive target for the in vitro natural killer assay. Recent studies have shown the K562 blasts are multipotential, hematopoietic malignant cells that spontaneously cells produce hemoglobin; cells carry the Philadelphia chromosome with a b3-a2 fusion gene. differentiate into recognisable progenitors of the erythrocyte, granulocyte and monocytic series.   View
